    Type of Injection Molding

    Plastic injection molding parts is widely used in many industries, how to make high quality injection molding? So plastic injection mold type is very important for injection moulding production, there are two main types of injection molds - cold runner and hot runner. A runner is the channel in the mold that conveys the plastic from the barrel of the injection molding machine to the part. In a cold runner mold, the runner is cooled and ejected with the part.   Cold runner molding system is the most type for injection mold making. Cold runner molds usually consist of 2 or 3 plates that are held within the mold base. The plastic is injected into the mold via the sprue and fills the runners which lead to the parts in the cavity. In 2 plate molds, the runner system and parts are attached, and an ejection system is used to separate the pair from the mold. For those of you who assembled a model car at some point in your youth, the runners and the parts were not separated. The child assembling the model was responsible for that final part of the process. In 3 plate molds, the runner is contained on a separate plate, leaving the parts to be ejected alone. In both systems, the runner is re-cycled and reground, reducing plastic waste.     Injection molding parts are widely used in many industries, but how to produce such plastic parts? Many people like plastic products but they do not know how it is produced, so now we will share the production knowledge - the stages of injection molding to the worldwide people. If you need high quality injection molding, firstly we should make high quality injection mold, also called injection tooling or injection mould, besides, we need the right injection molding machines to produce the injection molding parts, so all is clear, the stages of injection molding include: 1. Granulated or powdered thermoplastic plastic is fed from a hopper into the Injection Moulding machine. 2. The Injection Moulding machine consists of a hollow steel barrel, containing a rotating screw (Archemidial Screw). The screw carries the plastic along the barrel to the mould. Heaters surround the barrel melt the plastic as it travels along the barrel. 3. The screw is forced back as the melted plastic collects at the end of the barrel. Once enough plastic has collected a hydraulic ram pushes the screw forward injecting the plastic through a sprue into a mould cavity.  The mould is warmed before injecting and the plastic is injected quickly to prevent it from hardening before the mould is full. 4. Pressure is maintained for a short time (dwell time) to prevent the material creeping back during setting (hardening). This prevents shrinkage and hollows, therefore giving a better quality product. The moulding is left to cool before removing (ejected) from the mould. The moulding takes on the shape of the mould cavity.
